HEALTH BLOG, ADELAIDE - A mother of eight died after drinking10 liters of Coca Cola soft drinks in a day. Thus the conclusion ofthe coroner investigating the death of the woman in New Zealand.
According to the Otago Daily Times newspaper, Natasha Harris, who was 30 years old and suffering from heart failure caused by her husband so much Coca Cola the drink in a day.
Harris reportedly vomited six times a week a few months before he died suddenly in the month of February 2010, but Harris said thevomit initially caused him stress. If he does not drink Coca Cola,Harris will feel weak and rather angry.
Harris's husband, Chris Hodgkinson told the coroner (someone in charge to investigate and provide official information about thecause of death), David Crerar that Harris downed at least 10 liters of Coca Cola every day. "The first thing he did in the morning is to drink a Coke, and the last before bed also is the same drink."Hodgkinson said.
The pathologist, Dr. Dan Mornin before the hearing of the coronersaid that Harris likely suffered from hypokalemia is a lack ofpotassium in the blood due to high consumption of Coca Cola.
He said Harris died of heart failure, and the habit of drinking CocaCola, as well as poor nutrition and too much caffeine, causing his death.
"All foods and beverages will be useful when it is part of a balanceddiet coupled with an active lifestyle," the statement said.
