Maintain Healthy Eyes


HEALTH BLOG ~ Health is something very precious and needs to be maintained. One is to maintain eye health. Eye is one of the important organ for us. With the eyes of the universe we can recognize and enjoy its beauty.



But in reality, most of us rarely pay attention to eye health. This is because the impact of an unhealthy eye does not always cause pain and also not overly interfere with daily activities. So many people do not pay attention to the condition of his eyes, despite his health problems. Health problems can be caused by infection, solar radiation, computer radiation, unhealthy lifestyles and more.
Some eye health problems include:
1. Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis is an eye infection that can spread to the cornea and lead to decreased visual acuity. These infections can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or because of allergies. Usually marked with red eyes, watery, itchy.
2. Dim
Myopia (refractive disorders) due to impaired vision while focusing shadows of objects being viewed. There are several types of low vision, including:
a. Nearsightedness (myopia)
Nearsightedness is also called the eye minus, which is a condition where the eye is unable to see objects in the distance.
b. Farsightedness (hypermetropia)
Farsighted eyes plus also called, is a condition in which the eyes are not able to see objects clearly at close range.
3. Cylindrical
Astigmatism astigmatism or eye disorder that is caused by the surface of the cornea is not perfectly round, so that the eye can not focus clearly.
4. Old eyes (presbyopia)
Presbyopia is the aging of the lens of the eye causing the eye is difficult to make accommodations. People with presbyopia can not see objects that are too far away or too close to clearly. Presbyopia is a physiological state that occurs with age.
5. Cataract
Cataract is an eye disorder that causes webbed the eye lenses, so it will obscure the vision. Causes of cataracts include exposure due to prolonged sunlight, diabetes, high blood pressure and also because of advanced age.
6. Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye disorder with symptoms that are not straight. will gradually lead to blurred vision and even blindness can result. The cause of glaucoma include inhibition of fluid channels of the eyeball, so that the eyes will swell and push the eye nerve behind the eyeball. Other causes include pressure on the eyeball.
7. Dry eye 
Dry eye is a condition where the eyes do not produce enough tears. Tears are needed to wet the surface of the eye, remove dust and dirt, keeping the eye moist and keep the eye from bacteria and other infections.


To prevent interference with the eye it is necessary to maintain eye health. Among the efforts to keep our eye health include:
1. Gymnastics Eyes
Gymnastics is done by moving the eyeball slowly up, down, right and left. This is done to drive the eye muscles and keep the shape of the eyeball. Focus your eyes into the distance and close alternately. This movement is to measure the ability of the eye focus.
2. Consuming foods that are beneficial for the eyes like foods that contain vitamin A, vitamin C and contain antioxidants that help prevent various diseases. Among the foods that are good for the eyes carrots, broccoli, avocado, tomato, egg, spinach, garlic and more.
3. Keep reading
4. Maintain the position read correctly
5. Using good lighting
6. Get enough rest
7. Using eye protection when doing activities that may interfere with the eye.
